Darren Bruce, CPA, CA - Founder

Darren had a number of years working in multi-national accounting firms before starting his own business. During that time Darren obtained his Certified General Accountant and Chartered Accountant designation and completed the In-depth Tax Course, a two-year program tax program which is arguably the highest level of tax training available in Canada.

Darren is passionate about helping clients understand the accounting and taxes allowing them to focus on what they do best. When not helping clients succeed he enjoys all things outdoors with his wife and two boys.

Erin Campbell, CPA, CA - Senior Tax Manager

Erin has more than three decades of experience servicing the accounting and tax needs of entrepreneurial clients of all sizes. After graduating from Wilfrid Laurier University, Erin joined a regional firm in Niagara that subsequently merged with a national firm.

Most recently before joining Darren’s team Erin was a senior manager with one of the big four accounting firms working with a diverse client base. Erin’s focus is on corporate accounting, tax and advisory services. Erin was born in the Ottawa Valley but has spent most of her life in the Niagara Region and currently resides in Jordan Station.

Shashwat Singla - Senior Accountant

Shashwat is currently enrolled in CPA PEP program. He is gaining his practical experience with time and assists clients with personal and corporate tax returns. He also advises clients for better taxation planning and HST concerns.

He is known as Sash among colleagues and clients and resides in Brampton – the flower city.

Johnathan Fennema, CPA - Tax Manager

Johnathan has worked with small and medium sized owner managed companies his entire accounting career. Whether it is helping clients with government filings, corporate and personal taxes or future goals, Johnathan is passionate about client success. Johnathan achieved his CPA designation in 2024 after completing his Bachelor of Accounting and Master of Accountancy at Brock University.

Currently, he is studying for his in-depth tax certificate, arguably the highest level of tax training in Canada. While not working, Johnathan enjoys taking his dog Jelly for walks, playing video games and volunteering at his church’s boys club.

Alyce te Bokkel - Accountant

Alyce has been specializing in both accounting and corporate taxes for small to medium owner managed business since she began practicing accounting. She has a passion for helping small businesses succeed. Alyce obtained her CPA, CA designation in 2017 and earned a place on the Honour Roll for the September 2016 Common Final Examination.

In her free time, Alyce enjoys spending time with her family, being active, and honing her musical abilities.

Tayna Blair - Accountant

Tayna is an Accounting Technician who supports clients with bookkeeping and financial reporting. She holds a diploma in Accounting and Payroll and has experience in both public practice and industry, including the agricultural sector.

When she’s not working with numbers, Tayna loves relaxing with a good book, playing video games, and seeing live music.

David Fennema - Junior Accountant

David graduated from the Honours Bachelor of Accounting program from Brock University after spending co-op terms at Darren Bruce, CPA. He assists clients with personal and corporate tax compliance and advising clients on accounting matters.

When not in the office David enjoys spending time with his wife and newborn and playing board games with his friends and family.

Penny Ervin - Office Manager

Penny brings over 20 years of administrative experience in Office Management, Human Resources, and various accounting practices. She assists in the development and implementation of firm policies and procedures; manages and overseas the administration team. Aids on HR policies, programs, and practices within the firm; she maintains accounts payables, accounts receivables and client billing.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and grown children, exploring Northern Ontario, biking, boating, and fishing.

Michelle Lisko - Office Administrator

Michelle joined our team in January of 2019 as an office administrator. She brings with her over 30 years of providing a high dedication to client service from retail, restaurant, legal, and corporate environments. It is this passion for delivering an extraordinary client experience that drives her.

She approaches all aspects of any job with a positive, hard-working mindset, and goes the extra mile to assist our clients. She has over 13 years of experience in the accounting environment overseeing bookkeeping, payroll, remittances and personal and corporate tax files. With DBCPA she oversees many aspects of the office; however, her focus is related to the processes pertaining to the personal and corporate tax files.

In her spare time, Michelle enjoys crafts, yoga, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.

Lennon Mutebi - Personal Tax Administrator

Client satisfaction is his end goal. Lennon has over 10 years’ experience working in administration and accounting for Not for Profit Organizations, Medical facilities and Private companies. When not at work Lennon enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, taking long evening walks, he also enjoys playing table tennis and badminton.

He enjoys reading the bible and meditating on what he has read. It gives him great joy to offer helping hands to whoever needs help.
